‘Dry January’ was registered in 2013 for ‘educational purposes’, by a charity Alcohol Change UK. They formed a partnership with Big Drop who sell alcohol free beers and other beverages – a mutually beneficial partnership.
ADDING CLASSES IS NOT (ALCOHOL) FREE
Big Drop were less than pleased when in 2022 their partner applied to add further classes to the Dry January trademark for the sale and promotion of alcohol free beverages!
OPPOSITION HURTS
Big Drop opposed the addition of the classes. The two former partners went to a tribunal and Big Drop won, with their costs paid for by the other party.
