What was striking was the number of country and region based stands advertising their tech hubs and attracting talent to go and live and work in Malta, Palestine, South Africa, Turkey, Japan, Nepal, and Westphalia for example.
Knowledge and Tech Transfer.
The reason for this is that AI will be so game changing that one way of keeping your country / region relevant and on top, is to attract the best talented AI coders to come and live and work in your area. The theory is that leading tech, coding and AI will then be transferred to local people and companies, helping the economy.
Lisbon on Steroids
Lisbon used to be the place for the gig economy workers cheap to live, good Wi-Fi, low tax, sunny and pleasant. Malta targeted crypto investment.
Nepal
I love Nepal and have not been for a few years and really hope it can become a tech hub, but infrastructure also counts, with solid Wi-Fi, I might be tempted!
