Private images from your home shared by your robot vacuum cleaner!
iRobot are not pleased with their image annotation service provider since the company or more likely a rogue employee shared private images (someone in the bathroom) from trials in people’s homes with MIT who then published them in an article on privacy.
Not good for iRobot nor for the robot industry in general as it opens another door to invasion of privacy and personal data.
This could be highly damaging for iRobot and I sincerely hope that iRobot has strong contracts in place that will enable them to pursue the business for trade secrets infringement and / or breach of contract.
What contractual protection do you have to reduce the likelihood of breach and what legal teeth do you have should an event happen?
