Don’t show investors your Crown Jewels!

We have established that investors don’t like signing NDAs.

Investors think it is not worth it because most of the companies they meet they will not invest in – so they have not got the time, or inclination.

The response therefore is to keep the crown jewels to yourself.

Have a deck and script that looks pretty but hides the best bits (think of it like a bikini!). Mark it confidential.

You can still show them round your hypothetical castle with its amazing features, but do not take them into the keep and show them the crown jewels. Those will remain for your eyes only (and in many cases even after they invest).

Keep the crown jewels to yourself!
