Are We Really This Vulnerable?
JLR £72m in lost daily revenue
100,000 workers jobs at risk
£3.5 billion in revenue loss if production remains halted til November
M&S £300m profit hit
Co-op £206m revenue loss
This raises a critical question: how many other UK firms are similarly exposed?

Are we at apportioning blame too quickly?
– M&S did not have a back up
– JLR did not have cyber insurance
– Tata IT consultancy was the common thread
– The attacker persuaded IT they had lost their password, and they got in that way
– It’s teenage hackers (Really?!)
Is this not a National Emergency? Job losses, economic impacts?
This is a new era of digital warfare, where blame and piecemeal fixes will not do. Where is our coordinated national strategy that treats cyber resilience as a pillar of industrial policy?
